Well there are a lot of different factors involved in this.We are going to submit your site to the major search engines, Google, Bing, Yahoo, MSN and Altavista. This is a team effort for both of us and some of the things you can do are your responsibility as a web site owner. Website Marketing companies charge anywhere from  $300 to $2000 a month to do the things that we are about to tell you. The web site owners who we have created sites for that get over 100 hits to there site a week are already doing these things. Search engines crawl the web and your site and look for different things. These things will give you higher rankings and put you higher on the list when people are searching for your product or service.

First thing you should do is tell everyone, put your web address on your business cards, banners, billboards, phone book adds, and any other advertisements. Make sure you tell everyone to look at your new website. Bragg, Bragg, Bragg. Send out an E-mail to all your friends and family and ask them to see your new site.

Things that rank you higher
1. Seniority (how long your site has been available)
2. Number of hits your site has had (How many people have looked at your site)
3. Keyword relevancy (words people use to search the web for your service how often your keyword is found on your home page) in text (your responsibility in getting us home page text with your keywords) and behind images. Our responsibility
4. No broken links (links to sites or web pages that no longer exist) Our responsibility and part of monthly maintenance
5. How many times they find your domain name out on the world wide web on other sites and listed in different directories. Your responsibility (see business directories and swapping links below)
6. Purchasing your domain name for a 5 year period instead of 1 year.

7. Purchasing domain names incorporating your main keywords to have pointing to your main domain. Both of our responsibility.We can do this if you ask us to.

Remember you have competition so don't expect to be at the top or even on the first page right away.

  b. Get your web address out there as much as possible. Swap links with other companies with websites, friends, people you know or other web sites with relevant (having something in common with) web sites. (Just e-mail usthe links you want usto put on your site.
  c. Make sure every time you list or advertise your product or service somewhere your web address is somewhere in the listing or advertisement. (Phone book, billboards etc…)    
2. Get people to hit your site.
  a. send out monthly bulk e-mails to everyone you know letting them know that you have new listings, product or services on your web site. Make sure you put your web address in the e-mail. Try Constant Contact.com
  b. Put your web address on your cards, banners, signs, adds, flyers, post cards, billboards etc.... Anything you can think of.
  c. Put your web address in the signature of your e-mails. This is done differently per e-mail service.
3. Let usknow if you want to purchase your domain name for a longer period than one year.

4. Type up a paragraph or two for usto put on the home page of your site. This paragraph should have your main keywords (If you are not sure what your main keywords are ask usand we will e-mail them to you.) We can do this if you ask us to.

Just spread the word. Get it out there. Get people to hit it.
We have already or will submit your site to all the major search engines and get it out there. Some search engines can take anywhere from 1 day to 2 or 3 months. The main ones are pretty quick.
Just be patient and keep checking.
